Job Description
Application Engineer providing technical support and expertise for Schneider Electric PowerSCADA systems. Collaborating with clients and contractors to ensure system implementations succeed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and expertise in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Schneider Electric PowerSCADA and Inductive Ignition systems.
- Work closely with contractors and clients to understand their needs and troubleshoot issues.
- Ensure successful implementation of solutions.
- Focus on the deployment of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) at data center facilities.
- Perform software installation, customization, and start-up services; start-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical power monitoring equipment.
- Provide customer training for the commissioned system.
- Consult with customers to determine system operation requirements.
- Install and upgrade EPMS software.
- Document the as-built system.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with emphasis on control systems, Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years experience related to SCADA commissioning, Electrical Power Monitoring Systems; Building Automation Systems and/or Systems Integration.
- Experience with electrical fundamentals as well as with electrical equipment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving history.
- Experience working around electrical equipment such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, etc.
- Thorough understanding of power generation, power distribution, and power quality concepts.
- Good understanding of industry-standard communication protocols with an emphasis on Modbus, IEC 61850, RS485, and BACnet.
- Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardware.
- Knowledgeable in computer programming languages (Visual Basic, C/C++, Java, Python, etc.), databases (SQL), and HTML development.
- HMI configuration experience, including graphical screen development.
- Direct experience with software such as Power Monitoring Expert, Power SCADA Expert, and Inductive Ignition.
