Job Description
Director of Business Process Improvement leading transformation of MDT's pricing practices for profitable growth at Medtronic. Collaborating with finance teams to enhance analytics and reporting frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the transformation of MDT’s pricing practices with a sharp focus on margin management and improvement to drive profitable growth across all OUs and regions.
- Collaborate with pricing, FP&A, and finance teams to evolve reporting from retrospective revenue variance metrics to forward-looking, margin-centric analytics that enforce discipline and accelerate enterprise-wide margin growth.
- Redefine and advance global margin methodology by developing standardized margin and mix variance calculations that enhance existing revenue variance metrics and create visibility into true profitability drivers.
- Champion adoption of the new margin variance methodology across all operating units and geographies.
- Establish it as a core KPI for tracking and delivering enterprise margin targets.
- Build and execute a margin management analytics roadmap that modernizes and simplifies pricing and profitability insights across MDT portfolios, systems, and tools.
- Partner with FP&A to integrate margin-based price reporting into gross margin tracking mechanisms, including trends, actuals, and forecasts, to sharpen decision-making and accountability.
- Partner with regional/global pricing teams, corporate FP&A, CFOs, and IT to design and implement programs that drive sustainable margin improvement—including pricing optimization, margin accretive product launches, and FX mitigation strategies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience, including 7+ years in management OR advanced degree with 8 years of experience and 7+ years in management
- Real-life experience deploying margin-oriented price analytics and mix calculation methodologies
- Proven track record of leading organizational change.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with pricing & contracting systems, including price variance reporting, margin variance calculation, FX reporting.
- Strong project management and time management skills.
- Experience with global FP&A function.
- Expertise in problem-solving techniques.
- Experience working within a project-oriented team.
- Effective communication skills with strong ability to craft messaging across a diverse set of stakeholders including business leaders, commercial teams, pricing & contracting functional teams, finance, marketing and IT.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Teams, SharePoint, SmartSheets, or other planning applications.
