Job Description
Director of Core Engineering leading engineering teams at Expel to enhance cybersecurity capabilities. Responsible for team roadmaps, mentoring, and collaboration across engineering departments.
Responsibilities:
- Develop team roadmaps to improve engineering efficiency
- Work closely with product and security leaders on delivery expectations
- Cultivate a culture around structured software development and continuous improvement
- Communicate the connection between individual work, team goals, and company strategy
- Guide managers in developing efficient processes and goal setting
- Provide coaching, feedback, and career development to engineering managers
- Maintain a rigorous SLO-driven quality and incident response program
Requirements:
- 5+ years managing and mentoring engineers of all levels
- 10+ years delivering large-scale, high-performing, and secure cloud platforms
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and conflict management skills
- Solid understanding of data analysis and performance/operational metrics
- Experience contributing to roadmap/budget planning and making decisions
- Solid understanding of software engineering, applications security, and quality best practices
- Technical and cost management experience working with cloud-native services in GCP, AWS, or Azure.
