Job Description
Engineering Manager leading a team focused on payment processing optimization and automation. Managing technical strategy and fostering team growth for FinTech solutions at Flywire.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the day-to-day activities of a high-impact engineering team
- Hire, mentor, and develop team members, fostering ownership and accountability
- Set priorities, track success against goals, and ensure delivery to high standards
- Provide technical direction, driving pragmatic and scalable solutions
- Solve complex technical challenges with deep analysis
- Manage estimates, risks, and progress across multiple projects
- Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability remain central to delivery
- Partner with Product Managers, QA, SRE, and stakeholders across the organization
- Influence product and platform strategy through technical insights
Requirements:
- 4+ years managing engineering teams (ideally in a regulated industry)
- 6+ years professional software engineering experience
- Proven background in designing and scaling distributed systems
- Strong fundamentals in modern engineering practices (TDD, BDD, CI/CD, databases, object-oriented design)
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- FinTech or payments industry experience is a strong plus
