Job Description

PIMS Junior Analyst supporting Plant Information Management System and IT tasks remotely. Engage in monitoring and enhancing system performance while resolving user requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting PIMS (Plant Information Management System) services and IT infrastructure by providing technical support for monitoring, performance assessment, configuration, and troubleshooting in PIMS environments.
  • Respond to user requests related to automation solutions, IT infrastructure, contract compliance oversight, and the handling and prevention of failures reported by users or monitoring tools.
  • Travel to client sites when necessary to provide support as directed by immediate management.
  • Provide PIMS support services through technical activities including monitoring, performance evaluation, configuration, and fault resolution in PIMS environments, meeting the area’s targets.
  • Generate monthly usage statistics for PIMS portals and their respective servers.
  • Manage software licenses for PIMS applications installed on machines covered by this specification.
  • Monitor the overall environment, configure alarms to support monitoring in the event of failures and incidents.
  • Review and act on system failure logs, update supported product versions, implement new features, recover collection interface buffers, restore event queues, and recover and reprocess data storage structures.
  • Resolve failures on client stations for products such as the PI suite from OSIsoft.
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on PIMS platform products.
  • Provide support following the ILTL methodology and meeting contractual KPIs, carrying out all necessary and indicated follow-ups.
  • Produce managerial reports/presentations summarizing monthly activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree completed in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Data Processing, Business Administration (with focus or specialization in Systems Analysis), Engineering, or related fields.
  • Completion certificates for OSIsoft courses, especially PI System Manager.
  • At least 1 year of experience in related activities.
  • Knowledge in administration of the PI system (OSIsoft): data standardization, tag registration and configuration, interface configuration, portal creation using web parts, installation and configuration of PI servers (OSIsoft), etc.
  • Experience developing applications using PI Process Book and PI DataLink tools.
  • Knowledge in PIMS and IT: support for OSIsoft products including PI Server, ProcessBook, DataLink, PI ACE, PI Asset Framework/Notification, PI Coresight, RTPortal with emphasis on OSIsoft Web Parts and PI-Alarm View.
  • Experience implementing and managing data loads for PI through proprietary or standard interfaces such as OPC DA, OPC HDA, UFL, Batch File, RELDB, OPC UA from PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), DCS (Distributed Control Systems), RTUs (Remote Terminal Units) or SCADA systems.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and deploying OPC protocol redundancy.
  • Basic support knowledge of MS SharePoint and operating systems, particularly Windows Server.
  • Knowledge of other PIMS platforms.
  • Basic knowledge in automation: instrumentation sensors and actuators, electrical systems, programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems, RTUs (Remote Terminal Units), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), communication gateways, OPC and industrial network protocols.
