Job Description
Senior Property Accountant managing U.S. property accounting with a focus on financial accuracy and process improvement. Full-time remote role for candidates in South America, ideal for those fluent in English.
Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle property accounting for multiple U.S. property entities (currently six, with plans to add 2–3 more)
- Input, process, and pay invoices in Yardi and QuickBooks Online (QBO) (AP volume: typically 8–25 invoices per week)
- Perform bank reconciliations and record journal entries (JEs) accurately
- Run monthly accruals for property taxes, insurance, and contracted services (e.g., landscaping), even when invoices are pending
- Handle accruals for asset management and property management fees (JLH2); book accruals and send invoices as applicable
- Complete CAM reconciliations and ensure accurate tenant recoveries
- Prepare month-end close deliverables: Submit preliminary reports by the 10th of each month
- Incorporate feedback and finalize all bookings by the 15th
- Set up and manage commercial and café tenants in Yardi, including move-in/move-out processes and rent invoicing
- Collaborate on developing and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Support scalability as the company adds new entities and team members
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of U.S. property accounting experience (required)
- MUST have fluent English skills; reading, writing, and speaking
- Proficiency with Yardi and QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across time zones
- Based in South America (preferred: Argentina) and available during Pacific Time (PT) hours
