Job Description
VP, Accounting responsible for managing accounting systems and ensuring compliance with GAAP at Pathward. Works on financial inclusion initiatives and promotes economic mobility through responsible financial products.
Responsibilities:
- Manages the development, implementation and/or maintenance of one or more accounting systems in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with financial transaction recording standards.
- Performs control/reconciliation of accounts and records.
- Prepares accounting reports/schedules for internal and/or external audiences.
- Reviews and recommends policy changes; assess internal control structure.
- Develops, maintains, monitors, and enforces accounting policies.
- Performs reviews on technical accounting areas.
- Reviews workflow for efficiencies and improvements.
- Documents and communicates complex technical accounting and financial reporting matters.
- Ensures accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of accounting data and revenue.
- Participates in annual audits and special projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience. Master's degree preferred.
- CPA preferred
- Typically 12+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.
