Job Description
Accountant responsible for financial operations at Skilled Nursing Facility. Requires experience in US Healthcare and GAAP compliance, with excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Managing day-to-day financial operations of the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
- Ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and sound financial practices
- Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Performing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activities
- Preparing financial statements, reports, and variance analyses for management
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Reconciling bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts
- Monitoring payroll-related accounting entries and reconciling payroll expenses
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP, Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement guidelines, and applicable federal and state regulations
- Supporting internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests
- Assisting with cost reporting and financial data required for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement
- Maintaining fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Collaborating with facility leadership and department managers on financial matters
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as an Accountant
- BSc in Accounting or Finance
- Experience in US Healthcare industry is essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills is non-negotiable
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced knowledge of accounting software / Sage Intacct would be ideal, but training will be provided
- Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUPS and PivotTables
- Exceptional eye for detail and great analytical skills
