Job Description
Admissions Representative recruiting and interviewing prospective students for South University programs. Managing inquiries, referrals, enrollment follow-up, and matriculation support.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit qualified applicants for admission to the University in accordance with state and federal accreditation and institutional policies and regulations
- Manage time and inquiry resources to generate interest in programs
- Conduct a high volume of prospective phone contacts to secure appointments and facilitate interview activities
- Conduct follow-up activities with unresolved interviewees and future class applicants
- Work interdepartmentally with Student Support Services to support students and facilitate successful matriculation
- Explain educational programs, expected outcomes, student services, and financial considerations to students, parents, and educators
- Manage inquiries to achieve prompt contact and meet weekly performance goals
- Secure new inquiries through personally developed referrals
- Schedule and conduct interviews, pursue qualified candidates for enrollment, and assess career goal compatibility
- Forecast projected new students for admissions leadership
- Conduct monthly follow-up meetings with applicants to ensure successful matriculation
- Assist personnel and departments with data collection and problem-solving
- Participate in recruitment and enrollment activities, including open houses, regional presentations, training sessions, orientation programs, career days, community outreach, and employer partnerships
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field and one year of successful admissions or sales experience, OR associate’s degree and three years of successful admissions or sales experience
- Sincere interest in helping others achieve life goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with both faculty and student populations
- Superior organizational and problem-resolution skills
- Goal-oriented and highly ethical
- Strong expertise with MS Office and field-related hardware and software packages and systems for reporting features
- Ability to interact effectively as either a leader or a team member and work collaboratively with other departments
- Ability to listen to customers and understand and respond positively to their requests
- Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines
