Job Description

AI & Automation Manager at MAI Marketing Automation Intelligence. Supporting the operational execution of AI transformation and building AI workflows and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • You support the development and operation of production-oriented AI workflows and agent systems.
  • You integrate internal data sources and systems (e.g., CRM, reporting, knowledge bases, project tools).
  • You design and implement automation workflows using Make, n8n and custom integrations via LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, open-source models).
  • You identify and prioritize automatable processes together with all business units – from reporting and content production to customer advisory.
  • You design, develop and continuously optimize AI agents for analysis, research, reporting and decision-making processes.
  • You develop AI agents for areas such as SEO, paid media, content, CRM or internal knowledge work.
  • You evaluate and prototype with different LLM models and architectures for various use cases – in close coordination with the Head of AI.
  • You are responsible for enabling the team through training, workshops and hands-on sessions – so that AI becomes a working method, not just a project.
  • You implement GDPR-compliant solutions (on-premise vs. cloud, data processing agreements, data classification).

Requirements:

  • Technical competence:
  • You have hands-on experience with LLM APIs and automation tools – not just theoretical knowledge, but you have built systems and deployed them to production.
  • You ideally have solid Python skills as an integration and automation language.
  • You have experience with workflow automation platforms (Make, n8n, Zapier) and understand their limitations.
  • You understand data architectures, including APIs, data connectors, ETL/ELT pipelines and data normalization.
  • You have a basic understanding of vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, ChromaDB or similar).
  • Strategic & organizational competence:
  • You can analyze business processes and translate them into automation opportunities.
  • You think architecturally and decide which model is suitable for which use case and what should remain on-premise versus what goes to the cloud.
  • You are confident in translating between technical and business language and communicate convincingly with developers and management alike.
  • You have very good German language skills at C2 level; good English skills are an advantage.

Benefits:

  • You will work directly with the Head of AI and executive management – with short decision paths and fast decisions.
  • You will have real scope to shape and build something new – without legacy systems and bureaucracy.
  • You will receive an attractive compensation package with a clear development perspective within the AI team.
  • You benefit from a flexible work model: remote-first with regular team touchpoints.
  • You receive budget for tools, infrastructure and professional development – we invest in AI, not just talk about it.
