Job Description

Application Engineer applying ThermalWorks’ ultra-efficient, water-free data center cooling systems to customer projects. Reviewing designs, selecting equipment, and supporting installation and startup.

Responsibilities:

  • Review design drawings and submittals for cooling system application accuracy, including equipment selection, capacity, and hydronic configuration
  • Interface with customer and consulting design engineers to assess and validate equipment application
  • Support the estimating group with equipment selections and technical scope input for accurate proposals
  • Provide engineering support to the project management team, including technical questions, drawing conflicts, RFI and submittal responses
  • Support customers with application and technical questions through installation and startup
  • Feed field experience back into R&D and Product Development to improve products and quality
  • Serve as the technical bridge between ThermalWorks products and customer projects
  • Report to the Director, Research & Development

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in cooling equipment application or design review
  • Expertise in data center cooling systems
  • Experience with chillers, CDUs, and liquid cooling for AI or hyperscale deployments
  • Applications engineering background at a cooling equipment manufacturer
  • Fluent in mechanical design documents, schedules, and hydronic schematics
  • Strong client communication skills and comfort working directly with customer engineers and consultants
