Job Description
Applications Engineer supporting sales with engineered air pollution control solutions. Designing, costing, quoting, and troubleshooting industrial systems for customers and distributors.
Responsibilities:
- Promote the sale of the air pollution control division’s products
- Support sales by quoting, designing, and costing solutions to customer problems
- Respond promptly to customer and distributor technical inquiries
- Manage and prioritize workload to meet project quotation deadlines accurately and with quality
- Identify, analyze, and independently resolve technical problems
- Articulate decisions and develop sound processes behind solutions
- Handle application inquiries and recommend appropriate products
- Size components for applications
- Prepare technical RFQs for suppliers
- Engage vendors to secure firm and budgetary quotations
- Conduct technical and commercial evaluations to support procurement decisions
- Provide written and verbal quotations using ERP systems, company price lists, electronic quote tools, and contractual discount schedules
- Perform quotation follow-up
- Troubleshoot customer problems, handle complaints, and investigate warranty claims and RGA processes
- Perform costing analysis and calculate gross margins for review and approval
- Recommend modifications to standard products for individual customer requirements
- Represent the division at trade shows and visit customers for sales or service-related activities when necessary
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering experience
- Relevant experience developing system design and engineered packaged solutions for industrial applications
- Experience developing cost estimates and proposals for engineered equipment systems
- Experience in air pollution control for industrial manufacturing processes is preferred
- Experience designing complete dust collectors, baghouses, cartridge filters, HEPA Filters and cyclones package systems is preferred
- Understanding of EPA emissions, European Union Industrial Emissions Directive, Best Available Technologies and BREF requirements is preferred
- Experience managing equipment design and supply projects in industrial markets is preferred
- Must have the required supporting documents for travel across borders
