Job Description
Area Sales Manager driving Stabilus technical-product sales across the Northeast U.S. and Eastern Canada. Managing OEM, distributor, and customer relationships while delivering regional revenue and profit targets.
Responsibilities:
- Manage regional sales efforts for assigned products throughout the assigned geographic region or customer group
- Meet objectives for sales volume, market penetration, profitability, and selling cost
- Represent and promote Stabilus professionally and responsibly
- Define and attain budget sales and profit for the industrial division in the assigned region
- Learn and manage markets and customers within the assigned region
- Manage internal activity to achieve forecasts
- Manage three sales channels: OEMs and distributors
- Maximize sales and profit dollars with all accounts
- Implement sales and marketing programs within the sales territory
- Develop new accounts and manage existing accounts
- Coordinate technical and customer satisfaction activities
- Contribute to market, product, and pricing strategies
- Provide input to customer quote and deviation requests
- Maintain current sales support documents and reports
- Work proactively with distributors to satisfy customer needs
- Problem-solve with customers and the company
- Identify and interpret competitive requirements and actions
- Deliver customer presentations
- Conduct joint sales and training with distributors
- Provide daily/weekly contact management updates
- Contribute to the quarterly forecast
- Prepare key account and monthly reports
- Maintain weekly itineraries and expense reports
- Visit customers in a remote regional/in-home office role
- Report to the Director of Sales and make independent critical sales decisions
- Manage sales projects with potential value of $7M to $15M
Requirements:
- 4-year Degree required; Business or Technical preferred
- 5–8 years of sales/sales management experience in a related industry
- Minimum 5 years of proven sales experience in a related industry
- Minimum 4 years of middle management and supervisory responsibilities
- Proficiency with contact management programs
- Microsoft Office skills
- CRM experience a plus
- SAP experience a plus
- Advanced interpersonal skills
- Intermediate supervisory skills
- Advanced resourcefulness and initiative
- Ability to travel 50% to 60%
- Ability to occasionally lift products and supplies up to 30 pounds
- Must be strongly preferred to live within the assigned territory
