Job Description
Pharmaceutical sales representative promoting Shionogi primary care products to healthcare providers in Greenville. Driving territory sales, clinical education, payer pull-through, and strategic account relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and sell primary care products to healthcare providers within the assigned territory
- Drive demand, clinical education, and sales by developing, coordinating, and implementing a strategic business plan for Primary Care Physicians
- Educate healthcare professionals on clinical evidence, approved indications, and product efficacy and safety profiles to support on-label prescribing
- Independently drive sales performance and meet or exceed sales forecasts, assigned budgets, therapeutic expectations, and territory expectations
- Build and develop relationships with primary care healthcare professionals and pharmacy staff
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of market, demographic, and managed care information for the assigned territory
- Drive appropriate utilization of approved primary care products and generate payer and community HCP pull-through with cross-functional partners
- Develop local strategy and business plans with the District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director
- Implement targeting plans using promotional, digital, personnel, and analytical resources
- Anticipate and manage business opportunities and challenges using knowledge of the primary care marketplace, competitors, industry, and cross-functional plans
- Provide special education to healthcare providers through programs within Shionogi guidelines
- Provide input to commercial colleagues on strategic and tactical planning
- Prioritize physician coverage through in-person and virtual discussions
- Understand customer product and business needs while adhering to Shionogi ethics and compliance standards
- Anticipate barriers and propose responsible solutions
- Handle customer objections and exceed customer expectations
- Share exemplary skills with regional colleagues in a training capacity when needed
- Leverage emerging technologies and continuously improve proficiency
- Comply with pharmaceutical industry guidelines and regulations
Requirements:
- BS/BA degree required
- Proven track record of accomplishment in a professional role, academics, or extra-curricular activities
- Minimum of 3+ years prior sales experience required for Sales Representative level
- Proven track record of consistent high performance in a sales-focused role or other relevant experience preferred
- Prior sales experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical device, or related transferable sales experience preferred
- Proven track record in developing long-standing relationships
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients
- Ability to behave ethically and compliantly with company policies and applicable laws
- Strong understanding of the primary care market and healthcare industry highly preferred
- Knowledge of the medical, healthcare, primary care, or pharmacy industry and clinical skills preferred
- Product launch experience is a plus
- Knowledge of territory and established relationships with key stakeholders is a plus
- Proficiency in Veeva CRM, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and calendar-based call planning tools is a plus
- Marketing and other commercial experience, financial processes, Market Access, Project Management, and Regulatory environment knowledge within biotech/pharma is a plus
- Strong written, organizational, administrative, and communication skills

- Pass live call certification and mock objections during training
- Attend refresher meetings on product and disease-state updates
- Significant field travel, approximately 80%, including possible overnight and weekend work
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a complete background check
- Valid licenses and credentialing required to conduct business in assigned territory
- Ability to drive or fly to target accounts, customers, meetings, and conventions
