Job Description
Automation sales specialist selling and servicing robotics, welding, and cutting systems for Airgas. Evaluating applications, preparing proposals, and supporting industrial customers across the MidSouth.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate customer applications to determine optimum products, services, retrofits, upgrades, controllers, software, and equipment
- Prepare proposals, quotations, estimates, invoices, and sales and service reports
- Assist Account Managers with selling and make sales calls with Account Managers, Sales Managers, and Segment Managers
- Sell preventive maintenance, retrofits, new equipment, controllers, drive packages, software, used and reconditioned equipment
- Install and test robotic systems, shape cutting systems, welding systems, subassemblies, and parts
- Teach operators proper equipment operation, sequencing, and process optimization
- Participate in territory planning and coordinate with sales managers, account managers, segment managers, and supplier representatives
- Attend War Room Meetings
- Provide input on sales and expense budgets
- Troubleshoot, repair, assemble, and evaluate industrial automation equipment and components
- Read work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Test functional performance under specified environmental conditions
- Analyze test results, determine causes of failure, replace defective wiring and components, and return units for manufacturer repair
- Devise test equipment setups for nonstandard or customer-returned units
- Conduct sales demonstrations and make sales and service calls at customer locations
- Order parts and maintain repair-parts stock
- Observe safety best practices, report unsafe situations, and lead safe work activities
Requirements:
- Experienced in the sale and maintenance of robotic systems, shape cutting systems, and welding systems
- Computer literacy for preparation of sales and service proposals and report writing
- One-year certificate from college or technical school
- Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to travel on a regular basis; some overnight travel required
- Safe driving record and reliable transportation for work travel
- Ability to troubleshoot, evaluate applications and processes, break down, repair, and assemble industrial automation and components
- Supplier factory training on equipment, processes, software, controllers, and drives preferred
