Job Description

Back-End Developer building .NET and Azure solutions for Liviniti’s healthcare adjudication systems. Designing databases, APIs, and compliant business logic while mentoring junior developers.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to best practices and industry standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Architect and optimize database structures for efficient data storage and retrieval in the adjudication system
  • Implement backend functionalities and business logic supporting business processes, accuracy, and regulatory compliance
  • Advise leadership and the technology team on project status and improvement opportunities
  • Work independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects
  • Abide by HIPAA obligations related to Protected Health Information (PHI)
  • Complete required HIPAA training and demonstrate competency
  • Mentor junior developers on cost-effective development and coding best practices
  • Troubleshoot problems and provide effective paths forward
  • Document architecture, workflows, and implementation guides for internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs
  • Communicate with management, customers, vendors, business partners, and external technical teams
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and other healthcare data security standards

Requirements:

  • Proficiency with Visual Studio
  • Proficiency with C#
  • Proficiency with SQL Server stored procedures, functions, and general administration
  • Experience with Git repositories
  • Experience with flow-charting tools such as Lucid Charts
  • Understanding and some experience in Figma
  • Experience with Azure DevOps build pipelines and releases
  • Ability to work with external APIs for internal business processes
  • Ability to identify cost-effective development solutions
  • Ability to mentor junior developers
  • Ability to communicate effectively across management levels, customers, vendors, and business partners
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems in unknown situations and provide effective feedback
  • Ability to work independently and make logical business decisions with general guidance
  • Ability to consolidate ideas and collaborate with cross-functional working groups
  • Working knowledge of prescription claim electronic data interchange and the pharmacy reimbursement cycle
  • Familiarity with pharmacy management, including adjudication, formularies, and pricing is a significant plus
  • Ability to communicate with outside vendors and their technical teams
  • Compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and other healthcare data security standards
  • Proficiency in RESTful API development and integration
  • Five years of software engineering experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the Healthcare or Claims Adjudication space
  • Two years of software engineering experience in a healthcare finance setting is preferred
  • Direct healthcare finance experience, especially self-funded medical benefit plans or healthcare provider connectivity
  • Experience with Surescripts RTPC, ePrescriber, and Touchless PA
  • Familiarity with NCPDP Script, X12, and other pharmacy-related standards
  • Experience with Mirth Connect, Redox, or InterSystems HealthShare
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs)
  • Working knowledge of MediSpan drug data
  • Availability during core hours of 8:00AM to 5:00PM CT
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as required by industry demands
