Job Description
Contract Backend Software Engineer developing web services and data pipelines with strong skills in Scala, Java, and AWS. Joining a remote position with 12-month duration at 3Core Systems, Inc.
Responsibilities:
- Backend application development
- Building web services
- Data pipeline development
- Processing machine-generated events
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Scala
- Strong experience with Java 17+
- Experience in building web services and data pipelines
- Critical experience with Akka / Pekko, including Akka Streams
- Familiarity with Cats / Cats Effect for functional programming
- High-concurrency and distributed architecture experience
- Strong knowledge of AWS services including IAM, Kinesis, DynamoDB, SQS / SNS, API Gateway, KMS
- SQL and query optimization skills
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions
- Understanding of high availability & scalable system design
