Job Description

Scan-to-BIM Specialist transforming 3D laser scans into accurate Revit models. Interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP data for remote construction-documentation workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Transform 3D laser scan data and point clouds into accurate, data-rich BIM models in Autodesk Revit
  • Produce Scan-to-BIM models using as-built modeling methodologies
  • Interpret complex scan data for architectural, structural, and/or MEP disciplines
  • Apply construction tolerances to BIM modeling
  • Register, clean up, clip, and export point clouds in Autodesk ReCap Pro
  • Perform clash detection between point clouds and new 3D models using Autodesk Navisworks
  • Make logical drafting assumptions when scan data is noisy or occluded
  • Manage massive raw laser-data files
  • Submit a 1.5–2 minute English voice note describing relevant experience, past responsibilities, and interest in U.S. remote opportunities
  • Provide a work-sample portfolio for internal screening purposes

Requirements:

  • Degree or Technical Diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of proven, hands-on experience in Scan-to-BIM production workflows
  • Advanced Autodesk Revit proficiency, including modeling, phasing, worksharing, and family creation
  • Advanced Autodesk ReCap Pro proficiency, including registration, cleanup, clipping, and exporting point clouds
  • Experience or knowledge of automated extraction plugins or standalone tools such as EdgeWise, Faro As-Built for Revit, or Leica CloudWorx is preferred
  • Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection between the point cloud and the new 3D model
  • Strong spatial perception and 3D visualization skills
  • Deep understanding of building systems, including differentiating structural beams from mechanical ducts
  • Millimeter-level accuracy and precision
  • Ability to make logical drafting assumptions when handling noisy scan data or occlusions
  • Ability to organize massive file formats, including gigabytes or terabytes of raw laser data
  • English voice note required for screening
  • Portfolio or work samples required
  • Own computer with internet access
  • Comfortable using Hubstaff time tracking software
  • U.S. citizenship or U.S. work permit eligibility question required during application
