Job Description
BIM Specialist coordinating electrical and MEP BIM models for construction projects at BIM Technology Management. Improving VDC workflows, clash coordination, prefabrication outputs, and BIM standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the seamless integration of MEP systems into BIM models, ensuring data accuracy and clash-free coordination
- Oversee coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems with other trades and disciplines
- Model and coordinate MEP systems with subcontractors for accurate representation and prefabrication-ready outputs
- Utilize modeling, coordination, and spooling experience for prefabrication across various MEP components
- Develop and enforce MEP-specific BIM standards, protocols, and best practices
- Manage creation and maintenance of MEP BIM models for accuracy and constructability
- Deliver training and mentorship on MEP BIM/VDC workflows and standards
- Stay informed on emerging BIM software and tools affecting MEP modeling and coordination
- Foster collaboration between BIM, field, and project management teams
- Analyze BIM data and reporting metrics to identify performance trends and improvement opportunities
- Review MEP models for completeness and compliance with established standards
- Produce detailed construction documentation from MEP models per industry and project specifications
- Continuously improve workflows and tools supporting model quality and efficiency
- Prioritize and manage deadlines while proactively addressing potential delays
Requirements:
- Proficiency in MEP-related BIM tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Fabrication CADmep)
- Strong experience in BIM coordination workflows across multiple MEP trades
- Familiarity with prefabrication detailing and spooling processes
- Evolve MEP experience is a plus
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to mentor and train others in MEP BIM tools and workflows
- Detail-oriented with a focus on high-quality deliverables
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and industry certifications is a plus
- Experience collaborating with field, shop, and project stakeholders
