Job Description

Staff C++ Engineer developing NinjaOne’s endpoint management and autonomous patching platform. Building cross-platform agents that detect, install, and validate updates across Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-impact software products for automated endpoint management
  • Work on the C++ agent running on customer devices with elevated system privileges
  • Detect, install, and validate patches across Windows, macOS, and Linux
  • Build resilient installation and rollback logic using system-level APIs
  • Read and act on policy owned by the mainline platform team
  • Review code for correctness, maintainability, and architectural health
  • Mentor and grow senior and mid-level engineers
  • Identify process gaps, propose fixes, and drive improvements to completion
  • Collaborate with mainline, catalog, and other patching squads on shared ownership and integration points
  • Translate roadmap priorities and customer needs into sound technical designs
  • Help shape architecture and serve as a senior technical voice on the C++ patching team
  • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field
  • 10+ years of C++ development experience
  • Modern C++ (C++17 and above)
  • Cross-platform development experience across Windows, macOS, and Linux
  • Experience with Win32 API and POSIX
  • Experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers
  • Experience with SQLite and embedded database patterns
  • Experience with CMake
  • Qt and Vcpkg proficiency is a strong plus
  • Ability to work with system-level APIs and elevated system privileges
  • Experience with asynchronous application design and client-server architecture is helpful
  • Experience with large-scale datastore bottlenecks is helpful
  • Must reside in one of the eligible U.S. states
