Job Description
Child Development Specialist delivering home-based early intervention services for Sunny Days’ infant and toddler programs. Conducting assessments and parent coaching across California families’ natural environments.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct developmental assessments
- Provide child development services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
- Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)
- Work with families to develop strategies helping children reach specific developmental goals
- Use the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and ensure progress is generalized
- Provide services in children’s natural environments, including families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings
- Provide virtual services
- Conduct re-assessments and write progress reports, typically bi-annual
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations
Requirements:
- Master’s degree preferred/ required (for Orange County only) in child development, early childhood, teaching or related field OR a special education teaching credential
- Early Intervention Experience Preferred
- Home-Based Service Delivery Experience Preferred
- Strong Interpersonal Skills
- Must provide services in children’s natural environments, including families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings
- Must maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations
