Job Description

Child and Family Remote Support Worker at UnitingCare supporting early childhood development and family relationships in rural Queensland communities. Role involves travel and working with vulnerable families.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting early childhood development, parenting resilience and mobile services to communities.
  • Develop and implement programs to strengthen family relationships, implement early intervention and prevention activities.
  • Enhance and support increased First Nations/ Multicultural community participation and family functioning.
  • Providing information, advice and referral pathways.
  • Increase awareness of children’s wellbeing and adopt a holistic approach to supporting early childhood education, aligning with family and child support to nurture children and prepare them fully for learning and life.
  • Understanding the role is predominantly delivered in remote locations and resulting in approximately 60% of work hours spent travelling and overnighting in communities.

Requirements:

  • A Tertiary Qualification or working towards Diploma or higher in Children’s Services, Counselling, Community Services or relevant field
  • Be a highly motivated and energetic person who has demonstrated experience working with young children and their development, supporting families and communities
  • Current Queensland driver’s license
  • Blue Card
