Job Description
Clinical physician shaping Optexity’s AI assistant for care-gap detection, pre-visit summaries, and treatment planning. Evaluating models against real-world physician reasoning.
Responsibilities:
- Define which care gaps, risk signals, and clinical information the assistant should surface
- Translate clinical shorthand into precise, checkable criteria
- Shape the content, order, and length of pre-visit summaries
- Specify clinical search requirements and complete-answer criteria
- Review and score AI-generated risk flags, differentials, and treatment plans
- Explain gaps between model outputs and physician reasoning
- Build real-case evaluation sets and clinical-standard-of-care rubrics
- Pressure-test product and design decisions against real clinic workflows
- Contribute to benchmarks and technical reports, with clinical co-authorship available
- Work directly with founders to own clinical direction in a full-time founding clinical role
Requirements:
- MD or DO, board-certified or board-eligible
- Currently practicing or recently practicing
- Internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, or an adjacent specialty; primary care and multi-specialty experience especially welcome
- Day-to-day fluency in an EMR such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, Athena, ModMed, or similar
- Ability to explain why a clinical judgment is correct
- Comfortable with ambiguity and direct feedback
- Genuine interest in AI in medicine, including its failure modes
- Clinical informatics training or CMIO-adjacent experience is nice to have
- Experience with quality measures and value-based care programs, including HEDIS, MIPS, CPT Category II, and HCC coding, is nice to have
- Prior work advising or building health tech products is nice to have
- Research or publication background is nice to have
- Experience training residents or fellows is nice to have
