Job Description

Configuration Management Specialist managing GitHub, baselines, CI/CD, and compliance documentation. Supporting Koniag’s federal clients through secure IT modernization and transition planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage version control processes using the USDA-provided GitHub repository
  • Maintain configuration baselines for code, dependencies, infrastructure, and all system components
  • Document software dependencies with licenses according to PWS deliverable standards
  • Track and manage changes to deployment scripts, infrastructure configurations, and environment settings
  • Support CI/CD pipeline maintenance with the Architect/DevOps Engineer
  • Ensure software is current, supported, and compliant with end-of-life policies
  • Maintain an inventory of devices and media storing sensitive government information
  • Prepare and maintain system documentation at SDLC milestones and contract expiration
  • Support hand-off plans and transition documentation
  • Assist with media sanitization documentation per NIST SP 800-88 at contract closeout
  • Ensure compliance with Binding Operational Directives and DHS cybersecurity requirements
  • Support Koniag Technology Solutions and a federal client on a business and IT modernization project

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a related field required; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in configuration management, IT systems administration, or a related discipline on federal government projects
  • Experience with configuration management in a federal IT environment
  • Proficiency with GitHub and version control best practices
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated deployment processes
  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and federal records management requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing version control systems and software configuration baselines
  • Experience supporting SDLC documentation and artifact management for federal IT systems
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800-88 media sanitization requirements and federal records retention policies
  • Experience supporting or participating in ATO processes and security control assessments
  • Knowledge of federal records management regulations including NARA retention schedules
  • ITIL Foundation, CompTIA Security+, Certified Configuration Manager (CCM), or similar certifications strongly preferred
  • CISSP or CAP (Certified Authorization Professional) is a plus
