Job Description
Part-time Consultant improving industrial clients’ safety performance through organizational change, governance, and coaching. DEKRA provides global testing, inspection, certification, and safety consulting services.
Responsibilities:
- Help save lives, reduce serious injuries, and improve DEKRA clients’ safety culture through organizational change initiatives
- Deliver workshops and presentations to groups of varying sizes
- Conduct one-on-one and small-group field coaching with clients
- Progress to project management responsibilities on increasingly complex client projects
- Understand client objectives and adapt DEKRA’s centerline model for successful engagements
- Establish and facilitate effective safety governance aligned with client organizational structures
- Deliver DEKRA’s solutions using leadership, safety, and project-execution expertise
- Coach client leaders from frontline employees to senior leaders and serve as a trusted advisor
- Track progress against client objectives and adjust as needed
- Maintain communication on client safety performance, business challenges, and industry trends
- Communicate routinely with client leadership, delivery teams, and project teams
- Create high-quality internal deliverables and meet deadlines
- Enable and manage project-team success when leading client projects
- Ensure solutions are integrated and aligned with client objectives
- Provide performance-related feedback to consultants and escalate success stories and guidance
- Maintain project plans and consultant scheduling
- Deliver assigned billable hours and work on internal projects
- Manage realization rates and consultant utilization
- Achieve monthly forecast accuracy
- Expand client relationships and identify additional opportunities
- Maintain DEKRA’s professional brand and secure client references
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years of experience in organizational change, operations with safety responsibility, industrial consulting, or a safety role
- CSP or equivalent preferred
- LEAN Green/Black Belt preferred
- Presence in front of leaders from first line through senior manager
- Demonstrated cognitive flexibility
- Ability to navigate client ambiguity successfully
- Ability to develop deep knowledge of DEKRA solutions
- Ability to interpret the impact of non-safety processes on safety and culture
- Ability to develop strategic plans supporting the scope of work and overall safety excellence
- Ability to manage client excellence and DEKRA business
- Ability to create a project team culture aligned with business values
- Fluency with various governance structures
- Fluency with leading and lagging metrics
- Fluency in applying effective change management
- Fluency in Safety Management System best practices
- Ability to lead a matrixed team and develop others
- Must work in varied client locations, environments, and conditions
- Must accommodate various shifts as client activities are scheduled
- Must withstand extensive travel, including difficult travel and long periods of driving
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs. of luggage
- Ability to perform extended computer-based work and standing
- Domestic and/or potential international travel required, estimated up to 75%
- This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
