Job Description

Consultant guiding German start-ups and scale-ups through public funding applications, research allowances, cost calculations, and tax-office submissions. Managing client projects from data collection to filing.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage client relationships from a commercial perspective and take responsibility for multiple projects running in parallel
  • Lead your own projects from data collection through submission
  • Carefully review client data, including payroll data, absences, and other funding-related information
  • Identify gaps and anomalies in the data
  • Clarify questions regarding submitted data with founders, managing directors, CFOs, and HR teams
  • Determine relevant costs and the assessment basis together with stakeholders and tax advisors
  • Keep internal teams informed about progress and potential roadblocks
  • Collaborate with the technical contact responsible for the technical aspects of the application
  • Advise start-ups and scale-ups on public funding, particularly the R&D tax credit
  • Guide clients through funding strategy, the certification process, cost calculations, and submission to the tax office

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to manage projects independently and successfully, taking responsibility for results
  • Experience working with business clients, for example in start-ups, finance, consulting, account management, project management, or as a founder
  • Ability to identify data patterns, understand relationships, and assess whether results are plausible
  • Proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets
  • Basic understanding of tax-related matters
  • Experience with public funding is a plus but not required
  • Ability to explain complex topics clearly, both in writing and verbally
  • Friendly and professional manner, including in challenging client situations
  • Completed university degree, preferably in business administration, economics, law, or industrial engineering
  • Fluent German and English
