Job Description
COTS Systems Engineer maintaining secure enterprise applications across Windows, RHEL, virtualized, and AWS environments. Supporting DMI’s government and commercial clients through upgrades, troubleshooting, and security compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily maintenance of enterprise business applications across Windows and RHEL environments, including virtualized and AWS-hosted environments
- Plan, coordinate, and execute operating system, database, and application upgrades with multiple IT functional groups
- Monitor IT systems using enterprise tools to ensure availability, performance, and adherence to operational standards
- Manage and coordinate IT service delivery for mission needs
- Troubleshoot complex application issues, conduct root-cause analyses, and implement corrective actions
- Document system changes through Change Requests, ServiceNow PRB tickets, and internal tracking tools
- Review vulnerability and security scan results, validate system integrity, and mitigate findings according to approved security practices
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, technical standards, and service-level requirements
- Follow SEC-approved operational processes for ticket management, reporting, and service-level performance
- Collaborate with software engineers, technical specialists, and operations personnel to support system performance and mission readiness
- Provide knowledge-sharing and cross-training to other IT staff
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
- At least 5 years of IT experience supporting enterprise systems
- At least 5 years of experience in production or industrial engineering environments
- In-depth knowledge of troubleshooting and configuring Windows operating systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of Linux OS, databases, networks, certificates, and system integration
- Ability to independently research issues, troubleshoot complex problems, and develop technical solutions
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with vendors, clients, and technical teams
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and unable to have dual citizenship
- Able to obtain and maintain a government suitability clearance
- Successful completion of a background investigation
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain and complete a government security screening and obtain a Public Trust security clearance
- Suitable telework environment
- May participate in occasional off-hours maintenance windows
