Job Description
Customer Care Representative supporting The Hartford’s insurance customers with disability and leave management claims. Answering questions, initiating claims, and documenting information remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Initiate claims according to claims best practices, as assigned
- Provide exceptional customer service to customers with disability and leave management claims questions
- Promote digital self-service capabilities
- Navigate multiple computer applications and accurately document claim information
- Maintain a dedicated, distraction-free workspace during work and training hours
- Take ownership of each caller’s needs and use every touch point to build value and The Hartford brand
- Complete the multi-week classroom new-hire training course
Requirements:
- Demonstrated background in customer service, call center, insurance, retail, restaurant or a related field
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment while navigating multiple programs
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to empathize with customers and colleagues
- Adaptability
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
- Commitment to the Monday–Friday, 11:30 AM–8:00 PM EST training and work schedule
- Dedicated workspace free from distractions during work and training hours
- High-speed broadband internet service required; DSL, wireless, Wi-Fi, hotspots, fiber without a modem, and satellite are not recommended or supported
- Internet provider-supplied modem/router/gateway hardwired to the Hartford-issued computer with an Ethernet cable
- Minimum upload/download speeds of 10 Mbps/300 Mbps required
- May need to work holidays based on business need
- Successful completion of a multi-week classroom new-hire training course required
- Spanish bilingual is a plus
