Job Description

Data Analyst transforming insurance data into dashboards, forecasts, and business insights. Supporting Coterie’s quoting platform and commercial insurance operations with SQL-driven analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to data transformation and modeling in Gold and Platinum Medallion layers using SQL
  • Establish and evolve analytics best practices around metric definition, data integrity, and scalable solutions
  • Partner with Insurance, Revenue, Operations, and other subject matter experts to translate business needs into scalable analytics solutions and visualizations
  • Analyze portfolio segmentation, loss experience, partner performance, underwriting, and renewal behaviors
  • Use data analysis, statistical and quantitative methods, dashboards, forecasting, and fact-based storytelling to help leaders understand performance and identify opportunities
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, analysts, insurance subject matter experts, and business partners across Coterie

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Mathematics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field
  • Three or more years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, analytics, or a related role
  • Strong SQL skills and experience querying, joining, validating, and analyzing complex datasets
  • Experience building recurring reports, analytical datasets, and complex formulas using modern data tools
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, integrity, and documentation
  • Strong critical-thinking, creative problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively in a remote environment
  • Experience working with insurance-related data, such as loss experience, premium production, underwriting or operational metrics
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
  • Preferred: Experience with Databricks or related modern cloud analytics platforms
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Python or R
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or data visualization tools
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in a related quantitative field
  • Preferred: Intimate knowledge of commercial insurance
