Job Description
Data Engineer II building ETL pipelines, data models, and scalable platforms for Ncontracts’ financial risk and compliance solutions. Supporting analytics, reporting, performance, and team mentorship.
Responsibilities:
- Build out ETL pipelines incorporating data from all Ncontracts products
- Extract data from Ncontracts applications, transform it according to business logic, and load it efficiently into data models for analytics
- Write performant and maintainable code using state-of-the-art tooling and AI agents
- Ensure ETL process quality
- Define data models and build reports in the analytics platform
- Work with stakeholders to refine requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data consumption
- Optimize data processes for performance and accuracy
- Assist and mentor less experienced team members
- Advocate best practices and continuous improvement
- Participate in architecting and building a scalable data platform
- Improve data architecture and scalability
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer designing and implementing data warehouse and data lake solutions in an enterprise environment
- Intimate knowledge of dbt is required
- 3+ years of experience with Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, or AWS Redshift is required
- Strong background in MS SQL Server is required
- Experience in data architecture using different database types and data formats
- Strong knowledge in building data pipelines to clean, enrich, and transform data
- Experience with Python is a plus and highly desirable
- Experience in database design and tuning techniques
- Experience with version control systems (Azure DevOps, Git) and familiarity with CI/CD concepts
- Experience working in horizontally scaling systems is helpful
- Experience with Claude Code in developing ETL pipelines and data models is helpful
- Prior work creating reports and dashboards in a modern analytics platform (Sigma, Omni, etc.) is helpful
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric is a plus
- Experience with other cloud data stacks (Google, AWS) is a plus
- Familiarity with message/event-driven architecture patterns and distributed systems architecture
- Familiarity with systems integration
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be at least 18 years of age
