Job Description

Senior health data modeler designing compliant architectures for Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial healthcare data. Modernizing Teradata workloads for cloud platforms at CSpring, a data consulting firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver long-term strategic goals for data architecture vision and standards
  • Lead data architecture, data modeling, and data movement initiatives for healthcare data warehouses
  • Create end-to-end visions for logical-to-physical database design and data flows
  • Document data architecture and enterprise environments
  • Analyze business needs and create conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Develop dimensional, normalized, OLAP, and Data Vault models
  • Define keys, indexes, partitioning, constraints, and referential integrity rules
  • Produce and maintain ERDs, data flow diagrams, and model documentation
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and oversee data-source, data-movement, interface, and analytics mapping
  • Maintain data dictionaries, business glossaries, metadata policies, and lineage documentation
  • Support sensitive-data classification and protection
  • Provide technical recommendations and collaborate with architects, engineers, SMEs, and stakeholders
  • Address systems integration, compatibility, and multiple-platform integration issues
  • Develop implementation components and testing criteria for data architecture fidelity and performance
  • Communicate with customers and project teams and escalate issues and risks
  • Support migration of legacy Teradata models to Azure Synapse, Databricks Lakehouse, and Snowflake
  • Design target-state medallion architecture, Delta Lake, and Parquet models
  • Assess existing models for modernization, redundancy, and optimization

Requirements:

  • Strong problem-solving, influencing, communication, and presentation skills; self-starter
  • 7+ years of experience in data modeling, data strategy, and roadmaps for large and complex health entities and systems
  • Experience implementing large-scale, end-to-end Data Management & Analytics solutions for more than one large client
  • 5+ years of knowledge of regulatory security requirements regarding HIPAA, PHI, PII, and other healthcare data security standards
  • 5+ years of experience with Erwin Data Model or comparable tools such as ER/Studio or SQL Developer Data Modeler
  • 5+ years of healthcare domain knowledge covering Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial healthcare data sets
  • Expertise with normalized OLTP, OLAP, MDM, and dimensional modeling techniques
  • 5+ years of expert-level SQL skills, including complex analytic queries, stored procedures, DDL, DML, DCL, query optimization, ANSI standards, and code review
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Quality, Data Profiling, Data Governance, Data Security, Metadata Management, MDM, Data Archival, and Data Migration strategies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with short deadlines, interruptions, and multiple concurrent tasks/projects
  • Ability to work independently with planning, strategy, estimation, and scheduling skills
  • Preferred: Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services
  • Preferred: Snowflake DBMS, Power BI or Tableau, State Medicaid EDW/MMIS or federal reporting programs
  • Preferred: Teradata Vantage 20 modernization, Delta Lake/lakehouse architecture, Microsoft Fabric, AI/ML and GenAI tools
  • Preferred: ETL tools such as Informatica or Azure Data Factory
  • Preferred: BI/reporting software and Python or R
