Job Description

Data governance lead standardizing master data, semantic models, and AI-ready products. Supporting Centuri’s North American utility and energy infrastructure operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Own canonical business definitions and the data model describing Centuri's entities, relationships, hierarchies, and metrics
  • Serve as decision-maker when operating companies define the same term differently
  • Govern core master data domains and the Master Data Management platform
  • Set domain scope and sequencing, matching, merge, survivorship rules, and data quality thresholds
  • Build and lead the data stewardship network across operating companies
  • Define data standards, business rules, naming conventions, and approval workflows
  • Adjudicate escalated master data change requests and assess downstream impacts
  • Define guardrails for new data products, automations, and AI agents
  • Own risk and validation practices for data platform changes, source systems, reporting solutions, and integrations
  • Evaluate the accuracy of AI-generated outputs, code, and analysis
  • Curate reusable data products and semantic models for human and AI consumers
  • Maintain catalogs, data contracts, versioning, promotion, and retirement of data products
  • Drive adoption of shared data products, standard business definitions, and reusable patterns
  • Maintain documentation, lineage, controls, and metrics supporting auditability, training, and operational continuity
  • Partner with business data owners, stewards, and technology teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered
  • 6+ years of experience and 2 years of leadership
  • Progressive experience in data governance, master data management, analytics engineering, or data product ownership within an enterprise environment
  • Track record of setting standards that other teams adopted and followed
  • Hands-on experience governing master data domains and working with an MDM platform and connected ERP systems
  • Experience with stewardship models, matching and survivorship logic, and data quality remediation
  • Practical experience with a modern cloud data platform and semantic modeling, including Microsoft Fabric, semantic models, and data contracts
  • Some SQL is a plus
  • Working understanding of how AI and agent-based tools consume enterprise data and how to evaluate AI-generated output for accuracy
  • Strong analytical skills, root-cause analysis, downstream impact evaluation, testing requirements, and data issue resolution
  • Ability to influence and align stakeholders across multiple operating companies without direct authority
  • Ability to translate business requirements into governed data processes
  • Valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
  • Must pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
  • Satisfactory pre-employment background check results
