Job Description
Data Scientist using machine learning, AI, and Snowflake data to improve member and business outcomes at Connexus Credit Union. Building predictive analytics, data products, and conversational analytics capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop data science solutions using machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistical and quantitative modeling for predictive and prescriptive analytics
- Apply statistical, mathematical, predictive modeling, and business analysis skills to complex data from varied sources
- Create visualizations and dashboards displaying data-backed insights and predictive results
- Perform data extraction and cleansing, feature engineering, machine learning, exploratory analysis, data quality analysis, and experimental analysis
- Partner with teams to create and deploy Data Products that deliver member or business value
- Execute enterprise, run-the-business, and special data science and analytics projects
- Communicate project status regarding milestones and schedule commitments
- Lead data discovery sessions and document needs as work requirements
- Elicit requirements through interviews, document analysis, requirements sessions, data descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and data analysis
- Validate hypotheses, identify growth opportunities, and influence process improvement through analyses, experimentation, and scientific methods
- Develop quality assurance test plans and direct quality assurance testing
- Follow data science best practices, documentation requirements, policies, procedures, and BT standards
- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives addressing organizational trouble areas
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and team members on data-driven projects
- Mentor data analysts
- Build collaborative strategic partnerships across business and IT
- Improve department efficiency and reduce expenses by streamlining operations
- Comply with applicable Federal Regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, applied mathematics, statistics, or machine learning is Required
- 5+ years of prior experience in data scientist role is Required
- 1+ year of data science roles or equivalent experience including working with stakeholders is Required
- Experience applying statistical modeling, machine learning (ML/AI) algorithms for supervised and unsupervised learning, and natural-language processing (NLP) to business problems and goals is Required
- Proficient in SnowFlake, Python, R, SQL, and basic machine learning is Required
- Proficient in using data visualization tools
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to simplify recommended action plans from complex data science projects
- Ability to understand and analyze data and rapidly generate actionable results
- Ability to influence and communicate complex analysis and insights to a non-technical audience
- Ability to comply with Federal Regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act
