Job Description

PostgreSQL Database Administrator at TEHORA, ensuring database performance and cloud environment security. Involves administration, optimization, and cloud database management.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer PostgreSQL databases
  • Perform quality assurance and support the development of data models
  • Act as a performance, data operations and connection-management consultant
  • Advise teams on SQL query optimization
  • Contribute to the development of SQL coding rules and naming conventions
  • Create base schemas or containers in on-premises or cloud environments
  • Support the development of scripts for provisioning, updating or deploying database environments
  • Monitor cloud database service consumption and advise on cost optimization

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years' experience as a systems development or maintenance analyst working with a relational DBMS
  • At least 5 years' experience with PostgreSQL version 14 or later
  • Experience administering databases in a cloud environment
  • Participation in a project using DbUp or an automated data-deployment tool
  • Experience with Azure Database for PostgreSQL or CI/CD pipelines is an asset
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences and to document work precisely
  • Excellent command of French, both spoken and written

  • Remote work from Canada. Occasional presence in Québec may be required depending on the needs of the engagement.
