Job Description
Remote UX apprenticeship guiding participants through research, product design, AI features, and startup strategy. Free seven-month program with 1:1 mentorship for aspiring founders and career changers.
Responsibilities:
- Work through the end-to-end digital design and research process for a startup idea of choice
- Build digital products and services from 0–1
- Lead product and feature scoping and entire project management
- Identify target markets and position products for launch success
- Incorporate AI tools into the UX design process
- Design AI features and products using AI-specific design parameters and heuristics
- Advocate for ethical AI design that builds user trust
- Develop scalable business models for products or services
- Lead discovery research, including user recruitment, research plans, interview guides, 8–16 discovery interviews, and synthesis of insights
- Deliver UX design and business pitches supported by qualitative and quantitative data
- Create user stories and visual deliverables including personas, stakeholder maps, journey maps, process maps, service blueprints, ideation matrices, sketches, wireframes, workflows, and prototypes
- Lead user testing of wireframes and prototypes and iterate on startup ideas
- Create a design system, components, style guide, and branding from scratch
- Analyze direct and indirect competitors and articulate solution differentiators
- Consult with startups and complete UX research, UX design, product design, and service design work based on a scope of work
Requirements:
- Open to business owners, startup founders, new grads, and career changers
- Interest in entrepreneurship, building a digital app, AI app, or digital startup idea
- Willingness to commit 5–10 hours of work per week to complete program deliverables
- Willingness to attend 2–3 hour weekend lectures or complete online video course modules
- Open to feedback from mentors and willingness to revise design work
- Must submit a LinkedIn profile and resume with the application
- Must complete an application form and brief interview process if contacted
