Job Description
Electrical Design Engineer developing utility-scale battery storage and renewable EPC designs for Ulteig’s infrastructure engineering business. Supporting client execution, system studies, layouts, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities:
- Support design of utility scale renewable projects nationwide
- Develop renewable project design/construction packages including BESS layouts, electrical one-lines, collection systems, collection system studies, and equipment installation details
- Interact directly with clients for successful project execution
- Design projects with multi-discipline teams of 2-4 people
- Support development of early-stage projects with conceptual designs and material take-offs
- Contribute to internal engineering standards, toolsets and work processes
- Turn initial system conceptual ideas into fully developed optimized EPC designs
- Identify improvements and implement them with support from others
- Effectively multi-task and manage numerous projects/tasks simultaneously
- Maintain project schedules and achieve target due dates
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering required or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in power systems, with detailed design of Renewable BESS strongly preferred
- Experience with CYMCAP preferred
- Experience with ETAP and or EasyPower preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to employees, management, and clients
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Experience/familiarity with AUTOCAD or Revit preferred but not necessary
- Must be a self-starter and willing to identify improvements and implement them
- Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered
- Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
- Knowledge of BESS and or Wind systems, NEC requirements, and construction practices strongly preferred
- Ability to effectively multi-task and manage numerous projects/tasks simultaneously
- Ability to maintain project schedule and achieve target due dates
- Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, clients and external agencies
- Reliable high speed internet capabilities if working remote
- Up to 15% travel required
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Openness to innovation and ability to apply evolving technology and AI tools
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.
