Job Description
DevOps Engineer building scalable GCP infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and observability systems for Ambush’s engineering, design, strategy, and AI consultancy. Improving reliability, security, automation, and disaster recovery while mentoring engineers and traveling to Australia for 2–3 months.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage GCP-based infrastructure for scalability, performance, and cost efficiency
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting reliable deployments and automated testing
- Implement Infrastructure as Code and automate environment setup and configuration
- Establish and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks
- Collaborate with Security and Engineering to enforce least privilege, compliance, and Zero Trust principles
- Troubleshoot and optimize system performance
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness
- Contribute to DevOps best practices
- Mentor engineers on automation, cloud, and reliability
Requirements:
- Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform, including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Build, IAM, VPC, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Run
- Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Pulumi
- Solid scripting and automation experience
- Deep understanding of Docker and Kubernetes orchestration
- Strong knowledge of networking, cloud security, IAM, firewalls, service accounts, and high-availability architecture
- Experience with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, or GitLab CI
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog
- Excellent English proficiency for daily contact with senior stakeholders
- Availability to travel to Australia for 2–3 months
- Experience with multi-cloud environments is a plus
- Experience with Zero Trust networking and DevSecOps practices is a plus
- Experience with Temporal, Cadence, or Airflow is a plus
- Exposure to regulated environments such as HIPAA or SOC 2 is a plus
- Familiarity with edge security practices, service meshes, and mTLS is a plus
