Job Description

DevOps Engineer owning Rackspace’s cloud, CI/CD, and LLMOps infrastructure. Setting technical direction, mentoring engineers, and leading high-impact incident response.

Responsibilities:

  • Own complex, cross-cutting infrastructure and CI/CD systems, including LLMOps pipelines
  • Set technical direction for the area and lead design reviews
  • Architect and own end-to-end delivery of complex infrastructure and CI/CD systems spanning multiple services
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers
  • Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for high-impact infrastructure issues
  • Secure AI endpoints and agentic tools against prompt-injection and data-leakage risks
  • Contribute to and help enforce security and compliance controls across infrastructure
  • Serve as a primary technical liaison to stakeholders and translate needs into the infrastructure/AI-ops roadmap
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend support
  • Occasionally present technical work to cross-functional groups

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 6–9 years of experience in technology, with significant infrastructure ownership
  • 4–6 years hands-on architecting/optimizing cloud infrastructure and CI/CD systems
  • 1+ year informally mentoring engineers or leading design reviews
  • Advanced expertise in cloud infrastructure, containerization/orchestration, and infrastructure as code (IaC)
  • Ability to independently design highly available, cost-optimized architectures
  • Ability to independently design CI/CD systems and deployment pipelines, including LLMOps pipelines for AI/ML models
  • Deep understanding of AI infrastructure operational signals, including latency, token cost, and drift
  • Experience designing monitoring and alerting for AI infrastructure operational signals
  • Experience mentoring mid-level and junior engineers on infrastructure design and secure AI-endpoint practices
  • Ability to present technical work to cross-functional groups of 5–10 people
  • Preferred: Cloud Professional-level certification
  • Preferred: Deep experience with LLMOps at scale, including GPU provisioning and vector DB hosting
