Job Description

DevOps Engineer maintaining Linux deployment automation, Jenkins pipelines, and infrastructure for RecruityTalent’s IT recruitment clients. Automating databases, security, backups, and container migration remotely from Bulgaria.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Perl, Ruby, and Shell scripts for deployment, configuration, backups/restores, high availability, and administrative tasks
  • Plan and execute migration of administrative scripts from Perl to Python or Ruby
  • Manage OS and software updates, system hardening, and compliance with industry frameworks
  • Manage and build kickstarts for installing the Rocky Linux-based solution
  • Administer and support Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and build automation processes
  • Automate PostgreSQL database backups/restores, deployments, and upgrades
  • Help the support team quickly resolve customer issues
  • Maintain and support on-premises infrastructure, including server room equipment, physical and virtual servers, storage, and networking systems
  • Help transition the solution to containers
  • Mentor others

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of scripting expertise with Bash and any of Perl, Python, or Ruby
  • Detailed understanding of Linux operating systems, specifically Rocky Linux / Red Hat
  • Experience with RPM packaging and deployment
  • Experience with operating system configuration, tuning, and hardening
  • Experience creating kickstarts or similar system installation technologies
  • Experience designing and implementing Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to troubleshoot operating system issues, configuration problems, authentication errors, and related software defects
  • Graduate of a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar program
  • Ability to lead a small team
  • Knowledge or experience with containerization, including Docker / Kubernetes
  • Experience with networking, including IP, DNS, routing, and firewalls
  • Knowledge or experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware, KVM, Nutanix, and Hyper-V
  • Knowledge of LDAP and Active Directory
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to expedite job functions
  • Knowledge of cryptography technologies and certificates
  • Database management skills, preferably PostgreSQL
  • Must use only company-approved AI tools and follow documented company AI usage policy
