Job Description

Director leading Power BI, data quality, and process redesign for START, the world’s largest early-phase oncology clinical research site network. Reporting to the CTO.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the dashboard and reporting function end to end, including the Power BI estate, analysts, and vendor resources
  • Set reporting standards, intake processes, and reliable metric definitions

  • Drive toward one process and one tool per job
  • Trace issues from source systems through downstream systems to identify where breakdowns occur
  • Work with operating teams to surface, prioritize, and analyze issues, identify root causes, and drive named action items
  • Coordinate across functions while leaving execution accountability with function owners
  • Provide analytics support for the company’s quarterly priority initiatives
  • Report directly to the CTO

Requirements:

  • 7+ years working with data in a complex, multi-system business, including time owning analysis rather than only producing reports
  • Deep fluency in a modern data stack, including Azure SQL, Databricks, and Power BI
  • Systems-oriented approach to business problems
  • Good knowledge of financial processes, operational KPIs, measure definition and implementation, and deriving meaningful source data
  • Demonstrated process redesign experience

  • Credibility with senior stakeholders and judgment to challenge problematic processes constructively
  • Comfort working in a company that is still maturing
  • Preferred: healthcare, clinical research, or another regulated environment experience
  • Preferred: revenue cycle, order-to-cash, or billing operations exposure
  • Preferred: experience standing up a BI or analytics function
  • Preferred: Python or similar language for data work beyond SQL
  • Preferred: experience managing a small team or vendor resources while remaining hands-on
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm
  • Approximately 80% of time spent sitting
  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced, changing healthcare environment with demanding deadlines and continuous learning

Benefits:

  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match
  • Eligibility for an annual performance bonus, based on role and company results
  • Generous paid time off and paid holidays
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage and optional insurance options
  • Company paid life and disability insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) providing confidential, no-cost support for you and your family from day one
  • Flexible FSA and HSA plans
  • Supportive environment that values balance, wellbeing, and flexibility
  • Continuous learning and professional growth
  • Collaborative, creative, inclusive, and innovative workplace
