Job Description
District Sales Manager driving lubricant sales and distributor growth across New England and New York. Managing strategic accounts, pricing, Salesforce tracking, and extensive customer travel for HF Sinclair.
Responsibilities:
- Solicit new lubricants sales while servicing existing accounts in New England and New York markets
- Complete customer accountability activities, help train distributor sales representatives, develop performance and business plans with distributor owners and management, and make sales calls with distributors
- Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
- Identify potential new large distributors and develop appropriate account plans
- Meet targets for profitable sales margin, volume, and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
- Lead joint company-strategic account planning processes covering mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones
- Assess, clarify, and validate distributor needs on an ongoing basis
- Lead solution development efforts while coordinating Marketing and other internal resources
- Use Salesforce.com to manage customer relationships and track business development opportunities, call reports, and value files
- Identify, manage, and negotiate innovative development opportunities with field support
- Manage and resolve high-priority or escalated items
- Manage pricing and margins with the Sales Manager
- Obtain and provide account information, including credit applications and tax exemption certificates, for new accounts when applicable
- Learn and operate within the Account-based sales process
- Complete special assignments or tasks assigned by the supervisor
Requirements:
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in lubricant sales, preventive maintenance, or a related industry is required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or other field relevant to this position preferred; a combination of some post secondary education and relevant work experience may be considered
- Exceptional sales and business development aptitude
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to deal effectively with distributors at various levels, including field operations, area supervisors, maintenance personnel and senior management
- Knowledge of selling through an Associate or Distributor network
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Results-focused
- Previous experience in formulating and executing key client account plans with a focus on a solution-selling methodology
- Ability to measure and document results in a sales environment
- Comfortable and confident in writing and delivering presentations
- Mechanical aptitude and/or interest
- Computer literacy
- Candidates must reside within the designated sales territory
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates, with valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance
- Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including lifting and/or carrying up to 25 lbs and pushing and/or pulling up to 25 lbs
