Job Description

Mazda District Sales Manager consulting U.S. dealers to improve automotive revenue, market share, loyalty, and customer experience. Driving dealer planning, marketing execution, profitability, training, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the direct interface between MNAO and Mazda dealers
  • Consult dealers to grow and improve revenue, market share, owner loyalty, sales volume, marketing presence, and program execution
  • Align dealer marketing plans with MNAO and guide utilization of marketing assets and tools
  • Ensure compliance, effectiveness, and utilization of co-op marketing funds
  • Assist with dealership marketing messages and merchandising across digital, SEM, social, and other platforms
  • Interpret market data and analytics to develop dealer-specific plans
  • Ensure execution of integrated, model-line-specific sales plans
  • Facilitate product and process training
  • Align annual dealer business plans with MNAO expectations and conduct quarterly meetings with dealer principals and management teams
  • Support facility programs and network improvement strategy
  • Drive customer experience improvements and retention-based business models
  • Improve profitability through revenue-generating programs including MBEP 2.0, CPO, Co-Op, Customer Experience, and Equity Mining
  • Implement dealer-specific return-to-market plans
  • Review reports and results and make recommendations during weekly dealer visits
  • Assist dealers with compliance and direct them to resources for inventory, logistics, incentive payments, programs, vendors, and supplier issues
  • Document regular dealer contacts in the Dealer Business Contact System
  • Perform other region-specific duties assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, automotive technology, marketing, or related discipline preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience
  • 2 or more years' experience in a process improvement or consulting capacity strongly desired
  • 2 plus years' overall work experience
  • 3 plus years in a demonstrated leadership role
  • Training in consulting, coaching, influencing, or negotiation strongly desired
  • Certification in consulting, coaching, influencing, or negotiation is a plus
  • Valid driver's license for state of residence required
  • Satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage an assigned district
  • Strong business acumen in dealership operations
  • Some knowledge of automotive technology
  • Knowledge of sales methods, principles, and techniques
  • Knowledge of accounting and finance related to analyzing and interpreting financial statements and market analyses required
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with dealers, staff, and senior management
  • Computer knowledge including spreadsheet and internet applications
  • Ability to travel daily
