Job Description
EEO attorney adjudicating USDA federal civil rights complaints for Intelligence Federal. Drafting Final Agency Decisions, reviewing investigations, and processing appeals remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare final agency decisions (FADs), the main function of the position
- Review Reports of Investigation (ROIs) for legal sufficiency
- Assist in processing informal and formal EEO complaints
- Process post-closure compliance and appeal work
- Draft formal and complex legal documents, including accept/dismissal letters, appeal documents, counselor’s reports, and complaint status memorandums
- Conduct legal research and editing
- Review facts and case law
- Support the United States Department of Agriculture in adjudicating program civil rights complaints
Requirements:
- JD required
- Must be barred in a US State or Territory
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a lawyer required
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in Federal sector civil rights matters and/or processing federal sector EEO complaints required
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years writing Final Agency Decision reports at the federal level
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Public Trust Clearance
- Must be a US Citizen
- Knowledge of Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
- Knowledge of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
- Knowledge of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act
- Knowledge of the Equal Pay Act
- Knowledge of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act
- Knowledge of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act of 1974
- Exceptional writing skills
- Legal research and legal editing skills
- Must be able to provide references and a writing sample during interview process
