Job Description

Team Lead building TypeScript network monitoring, provisioning, and inventory software for gaiia’s telecom operating system. Leading developers and integrating third-party network vendors on AWS.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop developers on the squad through regular 1:1s, feedback, and formal evaluation
  • Own the technical vision and architecture of the Network Monitoring and Inventory & Fulfillment modules
  • Raise code quality, review standards, and engineering productivity within the squad
  • Partner with the Product Manager on scope, sequencing, and capacity planning
  • Collaborate with other squads, Customer Success, and the Implementation Team on network-heavy customer onboardings
  • Participate in hiring and staffing decisions
  • Spend approximately 50% of time coding and 50% on technical design, code reviews, and people management
  • Build plug-and-play network monitoring and provisioning features by integrating third-party network tools
  • Build incident management functionality that identifies affected subscribers and supports subscriber communications
  • Model physical networks, including sites, topology, and coverage areas
  • Maintain reliable IP address-space information for operators
  • Design inventory and fulfillment functionality tracking equipment from warehouse to subscriber home
  • Design, develop, and deploy GraphQL APIs for internal and external use
  • Develop interfaces in collaboration with designers
  • Report to the VP Eng.

Requirements:

  • At least five (5) years of experience in Typescript
  • At least two (2) years of experience leading a team of developers
  • Experience with the React library
  • Experience with Node.js
  • Experience in DevOps and AWS services
  • Advanced practitioner of agentic coding, with a track record of using AI to ship production-quality software
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty and bring order to fuzzy challenges
  • Outgoing and collaborative personality, eager to work with different stakeholders to solve complex problems
  • Strong product mindset
  • Nice to have: experience with GraphQL
  • Nice to have: knowledge of networking concepts
  • Nice to have: familiarity with Calix, Nokia, Adtran, TP-Link, UISP, Tarana, NetBox, and RADIUS
  • Nice to have: interest or expertise in functional programming
