Job Description

Engineering Technician designing and reviewing utility distribution project packages for Qualus, a power infrastructure solutions firm. Supporting project performance, compliance, quality, and customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure compliance with Electrical Distribution System standards and regulations
  • Prepare and review project design packages using WMS, Pole Foreman, Distribution Design Studio, Design Manager, and/or AutoCAD
  • Apply client, industry, and regulatory standards to existing distribution system components
  • Support the Engineering Manager with project assignments
  • Manage project performance and customer relationships for the distribution team
  • Identify and resolve problems
  • Review completed designs and design products for compliance with client, industry, and regulatory requirements
  • Review design products for quality and consistency
  • Communicate with internal, client, and regulatory counterparts
  • Maintain production in a changing environment
  • Identify and promote training opportunities

Requirements:

  • AA/AS Degree or 2 years of formal post-high school specialized trade (technical school/certifications) preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required to qualify for an Engineer title; candidates without a bachelor's degree can be considered for a Technician-level role based on experience
  • 3-5+ years' experience in Utility Distribution design using Design Manager, Pole Foreman, AutoCAD, or similar software
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution system design engineering standards, practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to apply client, industry, and regulatory standards and requirements to existing distribution system components
  • Experience with Microsoft Office product applications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commitment to customer service and client care
  • Ability to work with a variety of projects and deadlines
  • Excellent document management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
