Job Description
Engineering Tools Administrator managing GitHub, Jira, Confluence, AWS, and Linux lab systems. Supporting software engineers building high-performance networking solutions for AI and HPC datacenters.
Responsibilities:
- Administer the GitHub organization, including permissions, team hierarchies, role-based access control, branch protection rulesets, repository templates, lifecycle policies, integrations, and webhooks
- Administer Jira and Confluence, including projects, workflows, permission and notification schemes, custom fields, screens, automation rules, scripts, and reporting
- Administer lab infrastructure, including SSH and user access, asset inventory, and access for people and automations
- Provide remote system administration for lab and test machines used for hardware validation
- Coordinate physical, hands-on lab work with designated onsite personnel
- Perform routine AWS administration, including IAM access changes, EC2 lifecycle operations, S3 access configuration, tagging, and cost and usage review
- Partner with DevOps on VPC changes, account structure, elevated access decisions, infrastructure standards, escalations, and out-of-scope changes
- Partner with program management and engineering management on Jira configuration, release reporting, access, and governance controls
- Triage and resolve developer requests related to GitHub, Jira, AWS, and lab machine access
- Create and maintain documentation and support reliable, secure, easy-to-use developer-facing systems
Requirements:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in an IT, DevOps, or lab/systems support role
- Hands-on experience administering GitHub and Jira/Confluence, with demonstrated depth in at least one platform and ability to perform routine administration in the other
- Previous experience administering these tools through software and/or hardware engineering releases
- Working knowledge of Linux system administration, including RHEL, Rocky Linux, or Ubuntu
- Hands-on experience with routine AWS administration, including IAM, EC2, S3, and basic VPC or security-group troubleshooting
- Basic scripting or automation experience, such as Bash or Python
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Customer-service mindset and comfort supporting multiple concurrent requests
- Preferred: Current GitHub Administration or Atlassian administration certification, such as GH-100 or ACP-120
- Preferred: RHCSA, CompTIA Linux+, or LPIC-1
- Preferred: Experience in hardware, semiconductor, or networking engineering environments, including PCIe test cards and IPMI/BMC
- Preferred: Infrastructure-as-code experience, such as Ansible or SaltStack
- Preferred: Identity federation experience with SSO/SAML/SCIM via Okta, Entra ID, or FreeIPA
- AWS certification is not required
