Job Description

ERISA Consultant delivering IRS and DOL correction consulting for FuturePlan, a national retirement-plan administrator. Performing Excel calculations, technical research, training, and regulatory analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide correction services to Ascensus and FuturePlan clients through IRS and DOL correction programs
  • Complete Microsoft Excel calculations for clients
  • Audit and deliver correction packets
  • Provide in-house and external consulting on technical correction issues, IRS and DOL guidance, and internal processes
  • Conduct correction presentations and internal basic technical training
  • Review, audit, and update internal and external training procedures related to IRS and DOL corrections
  • Perform fee-for-service correction engagements and assist with advanced correction consultations
  • Participate in IT and project management special projects
  • Complete technical research and present findings on correction procedures, fiduciary correction programs, and prohibited transaction exemptions
  • Write correction articles and update ERISA policy statements and education research forms
  • Analyze legislative, statutory, regulatory, and case law guidance and determine its impact on the correction industry and Ascensus products, services, and systems
  • Attend continuing education classes and meet department service-level standards
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field
  • ASPPA designations preferred, including QKA, QKS, QKC, QPA, CPC, and QP3
  • Successfully complete ASPPA exams applicable to the area of Technical Expertise
  • Intermediate proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Functional knowledge of Ascensus documents, plan forms and notices, policies and procedures, main plans and products, and correction processes
  • Basic knowledge of the retirement plans industry and applicable regulatory agencies, including the DOL and IRS
  • Special consideration for Microsoft Excel proficiency, core code logic and system architecture, BOT tool creation and enhancements, and Ascensus and FuturePlan internal tools including ARK, Salesforce, and AXIS
  • Excellent client service, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, written and oral communication, seminar training, and presentation skills
  • Professional demeanor, positive attitude, sound business judgment, risk-taking skills, and ability to prioritize and complete multiple detail-oriented tasks within required timeframes
  • Special consideration given to CPA, MBA, JD, PMP, Ascensus experience, or industry experience
