Job Description
Field Application Engineer installing, training customers on, and repairing Formlabs 3D printing systems. Serving the DACH region through extensive on-site travel and technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to customer sites to unpack, install, commission, and calibrate new 3D printing systems
- Conduct structured on-site training for new and existing customers on machinery operation, software use, and basic maintenance
- Perform live product demonstrations
- Respond to customer downtime and perform urgent repairs, often on short notice
- Manage annual preventative maintenance visits within the 90-day target window
- Diagnose electromechanical issues and achieve single-visit resolutions
- Execute a high volume of field activity
- Independently manage complex travel schedules and submit expenses on time
- Maintain installation, training, and repair records in Salesforce
Requirements:
- Based in Munich or within a 45-minute drive (highly preferred due to hub connectivity)
- Willing to be on the road 80%+ of the time
- Strong technical background in electromechanical/hardware
- Soft skills required to teach others how to use the technology
- Fluency in German and English (both C1)
- Valid driver’s license required
- French fluency, passion for 3D printing and emerging technologies, and experience in rapidly-growing startup environments are bonus skills
