Job Description
Field Application Engineer installing, training, and repairing Formlabs 3D printing systems across the UK and Ireland. Managing customer-site service, travel logistics, and Salesforce documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact and face of Formlabs across the UK & Ireland region
- Travel to customer sites to unpack, install, commission, and calibrate new 3D printing systems
- Conduct structured on-site user training on machinery operation, software use, and basic maintenance
- Perform live product demonstrations
- Respond rapidly to customer downtime and perform urgent repairs
- Conduct annual preventative maintenance visits within the 90-day target window
- Diagnose electromechanical issues and achieve single-visit resolutions
- Execute a high volume of field activity
- Independently manage flights, trains, hotels, rental cars, and expenses
- Maintain installation, training, and repair records in Salesforce
Requirements:
- Based in London, Manchester, or Dublin (highly preferred due to hub connectivity)
- Willing to travel 80%+ of the time
- Strong technical background in electromechanical/hardware
- Soft skills required to teach others how to use the technology
- Fluency in English (C1-C2)
- Valid driver’s license (B) required
- Fluency in German/French is a bonus
- Passion for 3D printing and emerging technologies is a bonus
- Experience in rapidly-growing startup environments is a bonus
