Job Description
Field Application Specialist supporting Ambr bioreactor evaluations, training, and troubleshooting for Sartorius’ life science customers. Serving Mid-Atlantic and Southeast territories from a Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, or Delaware home office.
Responsibilities:
- Support customer evaluations, application assessments, and technical consultations
- Translate process requirements into product and workflow recommendations
- Provide troubleshooting and training for upstream systems, including bioreactors, PAT, SCADA, automation solutions, and associated consumables
- Execute application trials, validations, proof-of-concept activities, and customer training
- Design, coordinate, and document customer-specific evaluation plans, onboarding activities, and outcomes
- Resolve technical inquiries, application challenges, and product performance issues
- Coordinate corrective actions with relevant functions
- Provide application expertise throughout opportunity development
- Contribute technical insights, competitive positioning, and solution recommendations
- Capture customer feedback, application trends, and competitive intelligence
- Share actionable recommendations with Product Management and stakeholders
- Support training of Field Application Specialists and Sales colleagues
- Train customers on new technologies and support initial start-up operations
- Contribute to internal learning and team capability building
- Support the Quality Department during complaint investigations
- Provide monthly reports on territory activities to management
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated professional experience; Master’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of application support, technical support, field application, laboratory, process development, or related customer-facing experience within upstream bioprocessing environments
- Experience within Process Development, MSAT, cGMP Manufacturing, and/or Tech Transfer teams
- Experience in biologics or cell and gene therapy applications is a plus
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Ambr bioreactors and associated customer workflows
- Experience with high-throughput experimental design is a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot technical and application-related issues within customer environments
- Hands-on capability conducting demonstrations, evaluations, trials, and customer training
- Ability to document findings, outcomes, and recommendations in a structured manner
- Ability to collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Quality, and other cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix environment
- Strong customer orientation and ability to translate customer needs into effective application solutions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with Salesforce, Tableau, and system control software is a plus
- Willingness to travel more than 50%
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
